Privacy
What this site stores and sends, in plain words.
This site has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
What stays on your device
- The pre-trip checklist saves your ticks in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device.
- The Ask AI page keeps the current conversation in your browser’s session storage, so it disappears when you close the tab.
What the AI assistant sends
When you ask a question, your question and the recent turns of the conversation are sent to our server, which adds the relevant passages from this site and passes them to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI model, to write the answer. Anthropic processes this data under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its models.
Our server keeps a log of the questions asked (without your IP address) so we can see which topics the guides should cover better. Answers to single questions are kept for up to 12 hours, so that the same question asked again is answered from that copy. Do not include personal details such as passport numbers in your questions.
Protecting the assistant from abuse
Before your first question, the Ask AI page runs Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that you are a person and not a script. It usually needs no action from you. Cloudflare processes the check on our behalf.
To enforce fair-use limits, the assistant records when questions are asked, against a session that lasts two hours and a one-way, keyed hash of your IP address; the address itself is not stored. These records are deleted after two days. Networks that send abusive volumes of requests may be blocked for a period.
Server logs
Like most websites, the web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them after a short period. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes requests on our behalf.
